Professional Care Guidelines for Liner Pools by Pool Design and Build

Ensuring the longevity and pristine condition of your liner pool requires meticulous care and adherence to best practices. At Pool Design and Build, we provide comprehensive guidance for maintaining the integrity of your investment. Here are our general liner care recommendations:

Liner Water Levels:Liner pools should always be maintained at full water levels to prevent structural issues.

Debris Management:Promptly remove leaves or debris from the pool floor to avoid potential staining of the liner.

Chemical Dispersion:When adding pool chemicals, ensure the circulation pump is running to thoroughly disperse the chemicals. Avoid exceeding recommended doses, as concentrated chemicals can damage the liner. Treat the pool water with one chemical at a time, and never mix different chemicals. Always dissolve chemicals in water before adding them to the pool.

Scum Line Maintenance:Regularly clean scum line dirt using a proprietary liner tile band cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials that may damage the liner's pattern. Acid-based cleaners are not recommended as they can cause discoloration.

pH Level Management:Maintain the pH level between 7.4 and 7.6 for optimal liner health. Avoid extremes, as a pH below 7.2 or above 7.8 can be damaging. Ensure a free chlorine residual level between 1.5 and 2.5 ppm to prevent algae growth and liner staining.

Chemical Stabilization:PVC lined pools must be routinely stabilized with cyanuric acid within a range of 30 ppm to 70 ppm. Ensure stable total alkalinity (100-130 ppm) and calcium levels (200 ppm minimum).

Temperature Considerations:For a prolonged liner life, maintain correct chemicalization, especially at water temperatures below 85°F (28°C). Excessive temperatures may reduce the liner's life expectancy.

Appropriate Cleaning Equipment:Use cleaning equipment specifically designed for liner pools to avoid damage. Exercise caution when brushing to prevent tearing. Automatic pool cleaners should not remain trapped in one position for extended periods.

Winterization Protocols:Before winterizing, remove all debris, disperse added chemicals, adjust water levels, and balance the water. Circulate the pool water after adding chemicals to prevent chlorine settling. Utilize a well-fitting winter pool cover to prevent debris accumulation.

In conclusion, diligent care, proper chemical balance, regular maintenance, and common sense are integral to preserving the condition of your liner pool. Trust Pool Design and Build for expert guidance and unparalleled pool care.
